Longitude Enterprise Edition Functionality

Longitude Enterprise Edition provides all of the capabilities of Longitude Standard Edition and Professional Edition, plus these advanced features that facilitate the monitoring and management of large enterprises.

Enterprise Command and Control
Longitude scales with ease to any size enterprise. Thanks to auto discovery, identifying the servers and applications to monitor is quick. Adjustable views define whether all, or a selected subset, of computers appear in the display. Define multilevel groupings — such as department/computer, or administrator/application/computer — to present different support organizations with views of the systems and applications they can see and access. Role-based security defines exactly which functions each user can see and perform.

SLA Dashboard Service Level Agreements combine data across multi-tiered applications to give you a seamless view of availability and performance from a business perspective. If an underlying component is down or operating out of acceptable tolerance, it is reflected in the SLA's status. Longitude reports – in real time or historically – exactly what was out of compliance, for how long, how severely, and take corrective action if desired. Longitude’s SLA Dashboard provides up to the minute displays of SLA performance, with pinpoint drilldown to investigate shortfalls in compliance.

Enterprise Reporting
Designate performance and SLA reports for Longitude to generate and publish on its Management Reporting Portal or distribute by email on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Plus, Longitude Enterprise Edition automatically annotates raw data with findings from related events for root cause analysis, and allows you to add your own user comments to document reports for IT stakeholders.

Event Correlation
Most monitoring products report system and application events in isolation, revealing little to nothing about the impact on your business. With Longitude’s easy-to-define Event Correlation, related events across multi-tiered applications trigger intelligent alerts and actions, so you immediately understand the business impact. Longitude can monitor an application’s underlying components and warn you when certain combinations of conditions are about to affect a business process or service level. Longitude can determine the root cause of the problem – for example, whether it originates in the application server, back end database, or web server – and provide you with actionable information about its nature, severity, duration, and potential remedies

Customizable Event Monitor, with Topology View Distributed and complex environments benefit from the ability to map and view monitored components graphically based on physical or logical hierarchy, either using maps supplied with Longitude or by importing your own images. Easily organize and change your topology-based representation in the manner most useful to you: location, department, administrator, operating system, time zone, and more.

User Experience Monitoring
Longitude Synthetic Web Transactions let you assess the end user experience. Record a Web transaction, click-by-click, that you want to test on a recurring basis. Specify how frequently you want the transaction to run, and Longitude does the rest. You can also incorporate Synthetic Web Transactions into SLA monitoring, for a view that relates the end user experience to the key infrastructure components that support the application.

Send SNMP Traps
Integrate with central management consoles and help desks by generating SNMP traps based on your own corporate escalation policies. Using rules you specify through the GUI (no scripting necessary), Longitude avoids "event showers" by forwarding only the events you specify.
